I guess I'll start out with the heart of what I believe: I believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) will not perish (spend eternity in hell) but have everlasting life (spend eternity in heaven). I spent a long time trying to decide what to write on this page and how to say it. I wanted to tell you all about being a Christian and what it means to me. But then I realized that my faith isn't about me, or who I am, or what I believe. My faith is about WHO I BELIEVE IN. I am a Christian not because I believe a certain set of rules, or because I live a certain life, or because I worship a certain way. I am a Christian because I have put all my hopes, dreams and trust in Jesus - period! I believe Him when He says, "I and the Father are One." I believe Him when He says "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and No one comes to the Father except through me." I believe Him when He says "Everyone who believes in me will have eternal life." and I believe Him when He says "There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God." It really hit me. It is because I believe in Jesus that I am a Christian, and as a result I TRY to live a certain way, follow certain rules, and live a life that would please my God. Sometimes I don't bring honor to God because I forget who He is and what He has done for me. When that happens I don't live as He would like, but that still doesn't change my standing as a child of the Living God. Why I believe How do you explain to someone that you know, that you know, that you know, something is true. You really can't. There is a song, I don't know its name but a verse says: "You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart!" I know Jesus is who He said He is, because His Spirit lives within me, and my life has not been the same since the day I trusted Him to be my Savior. Here is a useful website that you can use in your personal Bible Study. http://bible.gospelcom.net/ You can look up Bible verses, passages or search for words. Now, of course, to use this you'll end up at the author's site. But that is OK. Reading the Word of God is more important than anything I might have to say. Enjoy! I also invite you to three of my favorite sites on the web. Grace Community Church of Tulsa
